The Power of Group Therapy

“I said to my body, softly. ‘I want to be your friend.’ It took a long breath and replied, ‘I have been waiting my whole life for this.’” –Nayyirah Waheed

Women’s Recovery Groups

Group therapy allows for people to heal in the context of empathy and compassion. With each group we hope to foster a safe container that provides ongoing community and accountability. Our Women’s Recovery process groups offer support to those in recovery in order to process struggles with regard to working toward/maintaining abstinence from harmful and addictive behavior cycles, processing core wounds and underlying trauma, and working toward self-acceptance.

Teen & Young Adult Women’s Recovery Groups

The power of group therapy is magnified in the teenage and young adult population. With the importance and priority of peer opinions emerging during the adolescent years, it is an excellent time to be surrounded with a like-minded and positive recovery community. Our Teenage & Young Adult Women’s Recovery process groups allow for recovery-focused peer feedback and family involvement to help support long term recovery goals and accountability.

Being a part of Mary’s eating disorder recovery group has helped me gain a sense of community with others who have shared the same struggles, which has in turn helped me stay positive and focused on recovery.
